    Event Description

    When evaluating the security properties and risks of an organization’s information technology using cloud computing, it is important for the reviewers to have an understanding of the five essential characteristics of cloud computing, the cloud service models and layers, and the four cloud deployment models (public, private, community, & hybrid).  Upon completion of this seminar you will gain an understanding of the core tenets and concepts of information security and risks of cloud computing.

    Speaker Bio

    Nicholas Barone has more than 25 years of IT Audit, computer and network forensics experience.  Nick has managed hundreds of fIT vulnerability assessments, incident reponse, computer forensic, and PHI, PII, and PCI related investigations in the US and globally.  His work in law enforcement and private industry has been reported in the national media, such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and Krebs on Security.

    Cancellation policy:  If you need to cancel your registration, you must email events@acfelehighvalley.org before the cancellation deadline date (1/4/19). If you fail to cancel by the cancellation deadline date, you are still required to pay the event fee (or if you have already paid, your fee will not be refunded). 

    Inclement weather policy:  In the case of inclement weather, you will receive an email (to the address provided during registration) the day before the event if it is to be cancelled and instead held on the snowdate stated above. Registration for this event includes indicating if you can attend on the snowdate.  If the event is cancelled and held on the snowdate, and you are unable to attend, your event fee will only be refunded if you indicated during registration that you could not attend on the snowdate. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact events@acfelehighvalley.org before registering for the event.
